Shirt for my brother?

Nov 22, 2011 22:09

Tomorrow I plan on taking a trip up to Goodwill to pick up some shirts I plan to recon, my little brother is visiting for the week and I was wondering if anyone had any recon ideas for men?

Most recons are things like halters, tanks, crop tops or laddering. Things my 15 year old brother isn't going to wear.

Maybe something like the bleach stencils some have posted here in the past?

This. I've made band shirts with bleach pens before, and they turned out really well.

I googled it and they look fantastic.
He loves Minecraft so I'm going to see if I can do a Creeper stencil for him.

(More ideas are still welcome though!)

Protip: Use a little spray adhesive on your stencils or make them out of contact paper. You'll get cleaner lines if the stencil is stuck down to the shirt.

I'm a guy and I give mine that kinda punk rock look by doing random cuts and either stitching them back together by hand with a blanket stitch or something, or safety-pinning the edges together. Also, you can do stuff like cut the collar and sleeves from one shirt and attach them to a shirt of a different color. either tight stitches or gappier ones, for style.

I also cut pictures off of one shirt and stitch it to another shirt like a patch.

The patch thing is great when a shirt is too big or too small but you love it dearly. A friend of mine lost a ton of weight, then did this to all the band shirts he had collected. Also good for shirts with holes.

its when people need ideas for things like this and all that they get are mind-dullingly simple things that make me yearn for what i refer to as the golden age of t-shirt surgery... yourlittlemonster, vivifromage, theturtlemaggie,
