Getting out there

It has been eight weeks and two days since the surgery.  I arrived at the Aerodrome today just as the children's morning classes were ending.  I was counting the hugs -- each one was precious to me -- but soon lost track.

I spent some time on the laces -- my hands have grown soft and nearly useless! -- but eventually got them right.  I was nervous, ( Read more... )

Welcome back! Did you watch any skating on TV or was it too hard?

Thanks ever so, Amanda! I did watch a good bit of skating on TV, notably "Kristi Yamaguchi's Friends & Family" (SO cute) and the US Nationals -- one of our hometown girls, Katy Taylor, was there.

The two things that *were* too hard were 1) keeping my journal and 2) being at the rink. I didn't post at all, and I went to the rink only once, to support some friends at a competition. A professional on TV is one thing...real daily life is another.

Thanks, GSB! I return to my private lessons today and am really psyched about it. My FI3s need some dusting off, though! :p
