1. Honesty is not the best policy. People do not want to hear the truth, and if they say they do, they're lying or they want to get upset so the can lay in their own self-pity. Why do people wear masks? Because they know thats the only way the will be accepted, and everyone wants to be accepted including me, but I have yet to keep my mouth shut ( Read more... )

3. Make new friends. Meeting new people can be loads of fun, or it can blow a whole lot. For me, one of those people I reached out to meet, is now a good friend, and the others are people I might talk to if I saw on the bus. None the less, get phone numbers, you can never have enough party connections.

There's something I did very little of.

All of those are very very true. And I'm sorry your first year wasn't as you thought it would be. I think people make college out to be so incredible but you're right about the high school thing.....Now looking back on the past 4 years, I wish I could have gone through college totally different. I wish I met more people, I wish I went out more, I wish I studied more, I wish I didn't let people walk all over me, I wish I didn't let my GPA drop super low because of all the crazy partying I did my first year. But then I thought again and realized that I wouldn't be where I am or who I am if all of those things didn't happen. So whether you end up changing the rest of your college years or not, do what makes you happy. You don't want to look back and wish you did something else. Learn from this past year and live up the rest....College only happens once! Sorry for the rambling. :o)
