I would support this! I think it's a great idea, if we're going to have mechanical inhabitants. Do we have any physically disabled residents at the moment, though?

The chances of injury resulting from regular port excursions and dimensional 'flooding' are high.

They are indeed. I don't know why it hasn't been proposed before, to be honest, especially since constructs can't heal as an organic body can.
