you make a good point. i've had very mixed feelings about the execution, but one angle i can't help but thinking about is the influence of technology. cell phone cameras going off and unauthorized footage being uploaded. and i try to renvision vietnam or world war II in that context and it boggles the mind.
however, i don't think any amount of technology will rid war of its secrets. i'm rambling now, but it can't be helped, because adfsadfsadf you.

i'm pretty fascinated by these stories of bloggers getting to certain scenes and getting up stories and pictures before the major news outlets. it's something of a revolution, but i then wonder how long until it's completely co-opted.

I'm not sure that it ever will be. The internet is such a global phenomenon; there would have to be some mass legislation passed all across the world to hamper it. And even then, the technology is so easily accessible, I can't imagine it will stay out of people's hands easily.
And about that other thing, don't give it a moment's though. There are times when I truly despise myself, if you get my meaning.
