Don't muddy up pleasant conversation with political opinions.

The day I heard the news, I'd only just finished reading the first volume of Ian Kershaw's biography of Hitler. It covers his life up to 1936, at which point he had been Chancellor for three years and had acquired near-complete control of Germany. Austria was next. It starts there, with his birth and family life; his mother spoiled him, but his ( Read more... )

do mine eyes deceive me?

i could never bring myself to take you off my list, and now i'm very glad i didn't.

No, he died for the only true crime punishable in today's world; he dared to fuck with the United States of America.

you make a good point. i've had very mixed feelings about the execution, but one angle i can't help but thinking about is the influence of technology. cell phone cameras going off and unauthorized footage being uploaded. and i try to renvision vietnam or world war II in that context and it boggles the mind.

however, i don't think any amount of technology will rid war of its secrets. i'm rambling now, but it can't be helped, because adfsadfsadf you.

Well, it's somewhat serendipitous that the technology has arisen at this particular point, when the media in many areas continues to provide a distorted picture of what's happening. There was much more honest reportage going on during those wars than we've seen in quite some time.

Oh, I hardly know what to say. You're making me blush awfully, you know.

i always use the word serendipitous and wonder if it's a real word. i feel validated now.

i'm pretty fascinated by these stories of bloggers getting to certain scenes and getting up stories and pictures before the major news outlets. it's something of a revolution, but i then wonder how long until it's completely co-opted.

blush away. it looks good on you.

I never even thought to check until you mentioned it. I think we should soldier on as if nothing happened.

I'm not sure that it ever will be. The internet is such a global phenomenon; there would have to be some mass legislation passed all across the world to hamper it. And even then, the technology is so easily accessible, I can't imagine it will stay out of people's hands easily.

And about that other thing, don't give it a moment's though. There are times when I truly despise myself, if you get my meaning.

I agree with Micheal on the never taking you off bit, but why would I seeing that you're my bandmate. It's good to see you here again, and I have nothing to say on this post. I may even come back with a better comment later. And I'll try to refrain from using a load of exclamation points from excitement.

You're full of lies. Will you be around later? I've got a couple things I'd like to discuss.

i was just handing a few of these out and thought i'd drop by to say hello because i like doing that and it's been nice seeing you around lately, even sporadically.
