gratitude project - continued

Aug 01, 2020 23:11

a bit late with my day 3 entry, but better late than never.
three things i was grateful for on july 29, 2020:
1) the house we live in
it's beautiful - wooden floors and many (10!) big windows. it's full of light at any time of the day, and it smells of warm wood in the evening. the house used to be much smaller until two of my brothers-in-law expanded it by turning what used to be a veranda into a big living room and adding kitchen. the two doors are perfect for playing hide-and-seek with my son, you should see how excited he gets when i disappear through one of the doors and appear in the other one.
i love being here.
2) leisure to do handcrafts
i've known how to knit since the age of 10 - thanks to my sister for this and many other things she taught me :) where did you learn it, Touyana? at school i knitted sweaters, pullovers, socks, mittens and gloves - i remember enjoying it very much. around the same time i learnt basics of macrame and embroidery. but once i left my hometown at the age of 16 i never had time for any of these activities. until i had sonam last year. it's very different now, am trying to design my own patterns, watch tutorials and try a lot of new things - macrame plant hangers, curtains, lamp shades, knitted sweaters, vests, hats, you name it ;) yet to start sewing and embroidery. my hands are itchy, can't wait to finish one project and start another one.
3) gardening
after staying in apartments all my life, i finally have a house with a garden around it. it's a whole new world to me and i need to learn a few things about it. i'm taking things slowly - growing veggies is my husband's privilege (duty) as of now, am experimenting with flowers and succulents. oh, what fun it is.

three things am grateful for on july 30, 2020:
1) evening spent on a beach
cool breeze, the red sun plunging into the sea, sonam rolling in the sand in his wet swimming suit. know of any better way to bid farewell to a hot day?
2) an unplanned trip to a nice coffee-shop
the nearest coffee shop is about 10-15 mins drive from home, and since i don't have a car of my own, i hardly go there. but today i got to go there with my mother-in-law, and since i didn't have to run after my son - my mother-in-law did - i happily sat back, looked around and realized what a pretty place it is. whoever designed the interior of this cute little place, did a very good job.
3) hubby not being fussy about cleanliness and order.
it means that right now i can leave wet swim suits and towels in the bag, dirty dishes in the kitchen sink and he wouldn't say a word, cause he wouldn't notice!.. or even if he did, he wouldn't think it's a big deal. the problem is that i do think that i should hang the wet stuff and do dishes and this is what am going to do anyway. but it's nice to know that your partner isn't fussy about such things
