Shouldn't have gotten my hopes up.

Okay, I have this OCD thing where if I start a show and watch enough of it, I feel like I have to keep watching it until it's over, even if it mostly only aggravates me. This is why I'm still watching Bones. And the first three episodes of the season were actually pretty good! They remixed the intro theme, which I did not appreciate, but I really ( Read more... )

bones, ugh

I've been out of this show since the end of S6. Not that I was ever all that in to it, after all, I was really just perving on DB. Either way, I feel your frustration with the writing and inconsistencies. As for Sweets and Daisy? I've been DONE with them since he cheated on her in a tent in line for fuckin Avatar tickets and it WAS NEVER MENTIONED EVER AGAIN.

*snerk* Well, DB's attractiveness and Caroline's wonderful sass are pretty much the only consistently good things the show still has.

I forgot about the Avatar line tent incident. How did Sweets and Daisy ever end up engaged at all? Ugh.

I agree with you on some of these points. I'm not entirely sure why they continued with the president topic. I think the Sweets/Daisy breakup might have been handled better if a. the Sweets/Daisy relationship had been handled better and b. they hadn't introduced the agent in the previous episode.

I think that Emily Deschanel must have something in her contract about animal rights episodes, because there's approximately one every season. But this isn't the first time Brennan has gotten really passionate about it (e.g. in season 3's Finger in the Nest, she was very defensive of Riley and cried burying him at the end). There was something a little unhinged about her last week, though. Usually they stick to the exploitative footage of factory farms or dogsfighting.

And the new theme mix totally freaks me out. I like the new photo montage, but the song? Blegh.

Yeah, they could have waited until after Sweets and Daisy broke up to introduce that agent. Or at least dropped hints of Sweets/Daisy discord before she showed up.

I was wondering the same thing about Emily's contract, to be honest, though I did notice that this episode's writer is the same guy who wrote the chicken factory farm episode. Maybe the two of them are in cahoots.

I'm just glad the end theme is still the same. I love that song so much.

I've stopped watching Bones this spring, after faithfully watching every episode from the start (basically just drooling all over DB). It seems I was right to stop when I did.
