good luck with boycotting China, but since they make most of the crap sold in this country get ready to get rid of most of what you own and be prepared to not purchase very much. LOL. But good luck, I respect your decision and hope it works out for ya!

China also has the most favored trade nation status with the US. You probably won't be buying any electronic gear at least. Clothing might be touch and go. Food might be okay. Cars? Might not be a good idea, unless you go for Korean manufacture.

Good luck.

I do abhor the violence China uses to bring their people in line and I sympathize with Tibet. These are the people who are still harassing our ships off their coasts in what everyone but the Chinese consider international waters, after all; they are very difficult to deal with in many respects.

But my daughter once asked her friend whose family fled from China to Hong Kong when she was little about Tibet and her response was still "What? Tibet is part of China." To her and many Chinese, it is as if Texas wanted to become independant of the US. Those quarrels have been going on for a very long time and I doubt this will be solved in our lifetime. The best we can hope for is to use things like trade to make the Chinese stop using such heavy handed tactics.
