Butterfly

“I feel so… trinka trinka lately,” her English is fluent. Smooth yet airy, carefree; the way she is.
“Trinka trinka?” he laughs, rolling over onto his stomach to face her, eyes shaped into half-moons from how brightly he’s smiling. “What’s that, Liv?”
“Overwhelming joy, especially when I’m with you…” she trails off, dreamy, arms stretched out above her head. She doesn’t look at him though and he plucks a blade of grass to tickle her nose with. Moves closer so he’s within sight. Her small button nose wrinkles cutely.
“Mmm, don’t. It tickles,” a pout and he laughs, pushing a lock of hair behind her ear. Leans close and brushes his lips over the butterfly she’s drawn under her eye. Just because, she says, the wall didn’t have much space left for it.
“You’re perfect,” he whispers and it makes her look at him, finally. And he smiles again, closing the gap between them and kisses her so gently.
It’s perfect.
