My parents are terribly practical people. There were filled bookshelves in my bedroom before I could yet read. Seuss and Scary and Munch and Berenstain, mostly. When I was reading on my own, it was Boxcar Children, Babysitters, and Nancy Drew. We actually didn’t have any fairy tales in my home. No magic, no fantasy. I recently started an illustration of Sophie cluttered in her little alcove in the hat store, because I needed practice and because I love that novel. This is the first mention I've heard of this, so I'm finding it difficult to muster up words. But considering, I feel it would only do honor to try and find them. Except, in the end, I can only say, Oh no.

I just. I am so frustrated with myself that I never took the time to write to the woman and just say - you are AWESOME. Please, keep being awesome.

It's. Yeah.

But, please, please. If you finish your drawing - post it? I'd love to see it. <3

Yeah, ): I kind of felt that way when Madeline L'Engle died. She was my hero, and the first true turning point I had into fantasy. Before that I was all about the Boxcar Children as well.

I think, though, it's safe to say that these writers knew they were loved, and knew that they were awesome. And as nice as one more voice praising them may have been, I don't think they needed it, and that they would understand. And that the best way to honor them is to remember them, and become awesome just like them. Yeah?

I will post it, definitely. (: Or at least make certain to upload it somewhere that you can see it.
