It's interesting--The lineage behind the grandparents that were dead before I ever came to be is entirely mapped out for me. Borzo after Borzo has researched further and further back to the point of the family's very beginning

I don't really think it's entirely true, what you said about family lines not leading to bad habits/tendencies. Speaking genetically, heart failure and cancers and diabetes are certainly somewhat dependent on the lineage, and are much more occurrent in those whose relatives have a history. Speaking mentally, though, my dad's side is "infamous," if you will, for being extrememly arrogant and stubborn. Both of my grandparents on that side are extremely uncooperative, and that stubbornness utimately led to my grandfather's death. My father is also overly-prideful, and will not bend on issues, even if given reasons, because he has the whole Always-Right complex, as well as all of my other aunts and uncles. I'm fearful of my future; it's passed down, and so maybe that has something to do with me wanting to be a doctor--it'll give me an excuse to feel above average??? How fucking terrible does that sound???

a lot of those are based on the behavior you observe while you're growing up, i assume. so, in my mother's case (where she knows her genetic parents but lived with a foster family all of her life), she's adopted very few of her parent's more obvious traits. so yeah, admitting to myself whatever natural borzo tendencies is somewhat valid, but because of being raised by borzo's as oppose to simply being a borzo. the genetic ones are certain, but these character-related ones are definitely a different story.
