My late car (now posing sadly on the side of the road near the mechanic's workshop with a 'For Sale' sign and battered come hither look) had many failings, but one of the most grievous, in my view, was that it was more or less colourless. Envy! When you live in the UK and only drive auto transmission beggars can't be choosers in the second hand car market, which is why Sven the Volvo is that gawdawful metallic tarmac colour. The inside is the same dull tarmac on te dash and doors with--get this--cream leather seats. Sven has two colours and they don't even coordinate. When I bought Sven I needed a new car immediately but when I trade him in for something smaller I, like you, will be keeping colour in mind.

Charcoal grey and cream *can* be a winning combination... but not in this case, I take it? I only drive auto as well, but that's no problem in the Australian second hand car market. Australia has the oldest car fleet in the world, due to our unusual detachment from the rigours of using one's car to flaunt (or exaggerate) one's place in the social hierarchy...
