I just proved my own rumour. You only get called for Jury duty if you have registered to vote. I registered in Feb when I renewed my licence and Vwalah, I got a jury duty letter in the mail 2 months later.

Suck.

in 2001 i got called, but likely i was in school so for some reason they sent me home... but i didn't register to vote so maybe they figured they made a mistake and sent me away.

now i'm eligible again. yay!

I have never registered to vote and i have gotten jury summons 2 times.
