Finding a room in this “hotel” that didn’t have dead humans littering the decor wasn’t easy, so in the end I settled for cleaning one out myself…Dru and I had to get some minions. The room could have been worse, god knows I'd stayed in worse...of course I'd stayed in far better too, but then I had to remind myself; I wasn't in Sunnydale fine dining ( Read more... )

I slunk back into the hotel, the hateful smells of graveyard dirt and lost battles still clinging to me. Ooh, it was horrid, the Slayer ripped from my grasp and just when we’d begun playing, too. But then I remembered, there was no need to fret, the stars said as much, sang down their plans into my head and promised me that there’d be time enough for punishing naughty girls later on ( ... )

I'd finally caught up with Faith and loped along with her through the cemetery, luckily the sun had gone down or I would have looked a fool having to back out of our spot of patrolling. We walked in silence for a time, Faith was scanning the park, looking for signs of trouble. I was glancing at her curiously, wondering about something ( ... )

My hand automatically went to my throat as he pointed out the bite marks. I'd almost forgotten about that crazy vamp chick, the one who turned into Buffy for a few minutes so that she could...fuck, I'd let her crawl way under my skin. Not my fault though, not like I ever been bit by a vamp before. Kinda hit hard. I'd take her out sooner or later, no doubt ( ... )

"Let's check it out."

Faith wasn't one to beat around the bush. Just grabbed her trusty stake, kicked in what remained of the door and headed inside. I reached for the spare stake I had in my jacket, and followed her in.

I knelt down to inspect some of the bodies strewn about the passageway. Most of them had the same kind of wounds.

"Vamps. Blood loss, neck trauma. Maybe it's a new nest. Move in on the residents and keep some for a regular food supply. Seen it happen before. Done it, even. These ones have been dead for a day though."

Then I heard a noise. Sounded like movement, perhaps the vamps were still roaming about the house, rousing for another night's worth of slaughter and mayhem. I pointed down a long hallway, indicating to Faith where the noise had been coming from.

Then gripping my stake I stalked as quietly as I could down the length of the hall. I was hoping that an ambush would be in our favour.
