[ Good morning, Mayfield. Anyone who wanders past 311 Miller this fine day will find a grey-skinned, candy-corn-horned little girl sitting on the lawn, fingerpainting on a pad of paper -- with blood from the squirrel carcass at her side.

Yeah.

At some point in the day, she'll be making a cheerful phone call. ]Umm, I have a question! If all humans ( Read more... )

[Have a horrified Mokuren] Ah, NO! That's not what you make paint out of! And all animals have red blood!

Please don't kill any more of them!

Pigments and medium. The pigments is basically ground up bits of things, like pollen, or plants, or flowers, or the shells of bugs.

I'm sure there must be paints at the general store!

That's what people are saying... does it still come in lots of colors? Painting with blood is fun, but purrhaps I could use more variety.

[Someone is angry.

Well, this is nothing new-- actually, the new thing is that Jack has never been a part of some freakish suburbia before. He spies Nepeta close by - oh, huh, she's funky looking - and starts over, ready to demand some answers. With violence, if need be. Violence is good. Jack starts to pull out his swo--

Wait.

Where the fuck is his sword?

So instead of boldly charging over in glory he stops a distance away from her, awkwardly.

This is so lame.]

[ Nepeta looks up from her beautiful artwork, startled and bloody. Is that... Karkat's stabby friend? Huh. Why is he looking at her like that. ]

Umm, hi?

[ Why in the world is she painting with a squirrel's blood. He has to admit that it's pretty awesome, but...do gray skin people do that? He remembers squirrels being a pain in the ass to chase, but puts it out of his mind. This one's dead.

Right, right. Interrogation.]

Where the hell am I?

[ She doesn't seem too bothered by interrogation, and sets down her painting supplies with little hurry. Nepeta's not sure why those from Sgrub are showing up here, but there doesn't seem to be any immediate danger in it ,and there's got to be a connection somewhere. Maybe Karkat will know. ]

This is the human planet! I think this part is called Mayfield.

"Paint isn't usually made of blood. It tends to be various oil or water based pigments, depending on what kind of paint it is."

Oh... even red paint? On Alternia, all paint is made from blood!

"Even red paint. They use things that are less likely to decay quickly like blood does, also the pigmentation that is used tends to have a lesser smell."
