I finished a new piece today. It's only the second piece I've fully finished since my thesis. It took me four days, and while I've occasionally had complete sketches come together in a matter of hours, this is the fastest that I've gone from brainwave to the printed product ( Read more... )

Yes. I use it to make large (typically 11"x17") scores, and occasionally parts in booklet form. It saw a lot of use when I was writing my thesis, but most of the time, I use my dinky laser printer so I don't waste ink.

You'll hear it eventually. I'd like to find a performer (not flute or piano, or I would have asked you) before unleashing it on the world. I'll probably ask around at Tufts next week.

And my stupid printer doesn't like to print blue anymore. I changed the ink cartridge and it's still doing it, so it's not that. How long are printers supposed to last anyway?

No clue. I've had my laser printer for about as long as I've had my computer, and while the printer itself seems fine, it's clear that there are some driver issues. Samsung seems to think that nobody uses Macs anymore, so they don't need to release updated drivers for them.
