Antici--Say it!

Well, roughly 15-18 hours remain until I am back at the campus of Franklin and Marshall for another summer of CTY. I am probably more excited about CTY this year than I have been since 2000, when I first got to return to my beloved F&M. I'm beginning to truly understand where Charles Hatfield was coming from when he said something to the effect of "I want to get this started! Let's get those fuckers out of bed!" the night before classes started in 01.1 (which is, incidentally, the first quote recorded on the original "Fuzzy Yellow Death," not counting the title itself). The reasons for this excitement, of course, have been covered in the last few entries, so go reread them if you care so much.

Here's an interesting observation: the reason I get to do Number Theory first session is that all of its regular instructors are only coming sesond session. And those instructors are just about the only folks left who have been teaching at Lancaster longer than I. There are a few exceptions to this, but I'm going to come out as one of the seniormost staffers for Session 1. And since social hierarchy among instructional staff at Lancaster is loosely a gerontocracy (I say loosely because 1: some newcomers wind up fitting right in and becoming influential. And some veterans keep to themselves and stay out of the hierarchy. 2: it's based on seniority rather than age. Although I've been teaching longer than most, this is the first year that I will not be the youngest instructor at the site. That honor goes to Curtis Huttenhower, followed closely (I believe) by my own co-instructor Andy.), I could potentially rule the whole staff for a session. Or at least rule Weis 3. If I weren't going to be so insanely busy with THEO. Better rethink my plans for global domination.
