This post made me feel so bad! I own rentals and Ive left those letters for people and now I feel sooooooooooooo bad lol I used to have one family that would leave and go stay with family and friends until they could pay the rent if they were late. I thought they were trying to be sneaky assholes but now maybe I wonder if they were just dreading the nasty letter I would stick on their door. :-(
My future tenants will have you to thank since now Im going to be much nicer and not leave notes..even the polite ones lol
A-ha! So you're one of those pesky note-slipping landladies! LOL! Honestly, I wouldn't change your note-slipping practices because of me. From the perspective of the tenant, waiting for and receiving these notes can be stressful and annoying, but from your perspective I do understand that you need to somehow communicate with the tenant, make certain they know in writing how late they are and how much they owe. It's just that in my case I generally already know exactly how late I am and by how much, so when I get these notes I'm always like, "I already know and I'm working on it!"
I realize it is all just business, though. The bottom line is that even though I don't like the notes, I DO understand why you have to do it and I need to come up with the money so I won't get them anymore. I mean, giving notes is alot more polite and professional than banging on a delinquent tenant's door, poking them in the chest when they answer and shouting, "Pay up or I'm going to kick your ass!" Hahahaa! I have a sister who owns some rental

I give the notes because in reality Im to much of a chickenshit to ask for the money face to face. I am the worlds biggest bitch to people who cross me wrong but am such a coward otherwise. I have started to try to figure out ways to get my point across without the note and really can only come up with doing a drive by! Maybe shooting out a tire a day! Just kidding of course. Ive had people come to me and say they were going to be late for whatever reason and thats totally cool with me as long as they talk to me.
From what I know about Favre its time for him to retire. Hes had a good run let someone else be the new "star" I dont watch to much pro football, my heart is college football, I just cant bring myself to root for a bunch of millionaires. I tend to automatically hate anyone better off than I am lol
Yeah, it's nice of you to give people a little leeway and a little more time if they come talk to you, as long as they seem like someone you can trust. I'm sure there are some tenants who can seem like nice people and they'll give you their sob stories; you keep giving them more time, then before you know it they are five months behind on their rent and you know you will never see that money. So I realize that as a landlady there comes a time when you have to be stern with people. It just comes with the territory. I know someone who used to rent out property but quit because he just didn't have the heart to kick people out when he needed to and would lose money.
Favre definitely needs to retire and I'm pretty sure he will after this year. Yeah, living in Alabama I'm sure you love your college football. GO TIDE!! LOL! Congratulations on winning the National Championship last year, I'm sure that was exciting! The college town I live in is the home of the Indiana Hoosiers. We've had some luck in basketball in the past but our

I felt so bad for Favre on the sidelines...he looked lost! I loved him as Viking and I will miss watching him. I still had hope too. I know the chances of the Vikings making the playoffs were so slim, but I hoped anyway. Especially with the Packers and Bears both losing on Sunday.
I thought it was funny when Troy Aikman, while calling the game, talked about the irony of Favre having his 297 game consecutive streak ended, then seeing Tarvaris Jackson and Adrian Peterson collide into one another! LOL! They showed Brett on the sideline covering his face after that play; you know he was aching to be out on the field. Yes, it is sad and I loved Favre as a Viking. I never got all the Favre-Bashing. Last year was a magical year and you don't get those opportunities very often in the NFL. Sadly, we had our chance last year and fumbled it away.
Yeah, after seeing the Bears get blown out and the Packers losing to the Lions Sunday I actually went into last night's game with a tad of renewed hope. I was seeing a path, however narrow, to the playoffs. Oh well, hopefully they'll get a good QB in the draft--Tarvaris is not the answer--and a new coach next year. I'm not at all sold on Frazier

Okay, I've read 2 of your entries so far and you've managed to make me LOL from both. That was nice of the old troll to give you a ride home and not expect you to even cum on his face.
I see we may be at odds when it comes to football, though...I am a Packers fan. And I noticed the Pats and the Colts listed on your profile...*shudder* You'll likely get sick of my undying devotion to the Steelers (my favorite team...followed by of course the Packers and then the Raiders).
Anyway, thanks for the add! I look forward to getting to know you better.
Yeah, we're definitely at odds if you are a Steelers fan, and especially with the Packers thing! The Vikings have been my favorite team since I was about 5 years old when my Mom, not knowing a damn thing about football, just happened to randomly buy me a pair of Minnesota Vikings pajamas at K-Mart one day. They became my favorite pajamas and had some sort of subconscious effect on me or something. I live in Indiana so I cheer on the local team as well. As far as the Patriots go, I've always just respected them as an organization and won alot of money betting on them as underdogs in the 2001 season playoffs, so I've liked them ever since.
I'll never forgive the Steelers for beating the Colts in that 2005 Divisional playoff, the one where Bettis fumbled the ball at the end!
Everybody's got their favorite teams. What's cool is we both like FOOTBALL, and it's always fun to talk about it!
You're welcome for the add. I think you forgot to add me back, though :=)
Ha ha, sorry about that! It's been a long week...sheesh! :-) Situation corrected.
Having grown up in Pittsburgh, it's just about impossible to *not* be a Steelers fan (though I catch a lot of shit for it now that I live in Cleveland...but that doesn't stop me). And I still remember that 2005 Divisional playoff...thank God for Big Ben!!!
I love your story about the Vikings...the only reason I like the Packers is because when I was a kid I decided they had cool uniforms. I worked at a shoe store in high school and a guy I worked with loved the Vikings (for no real reason in particular), so he and I used to get on each other about it...always fun!
You are so right that it is super cool that we both like FOOTBALL! Actually, I think it's even more fun to have someone with differing viewpoints to go back and forth with

Yeah, Big Ben with that damned shoe-string tackle he made on Nick Harper!
Actually, you just reminded me that Chargers/49ers game was on tonight! I watch most prime-time games but I was kind of on the fence about watching that one. I think I might turn it on to catch the second half and see if San Fran can make a game of it. With the field goal, it might have been one of those plays where the opposing team calls a time-out right as they kick it, and they have to kick it over. Maybe Reed hit the first, which you saw, and missed the re-kick or something. Or there could have been a penalty on San Fran during the kick. It's hard to tell.
