My mother left me 8 increasingly angry phone messages over the course of the week to return her debit card to her. I needed to use it to register for classes at college and stuff. I didn't want to borrow the damn thing because I knew it would take me forever to get it back to her do to scheduling issues. Anyway, I hadn't checked my phone messages ( Read more... )

Well it's rather stupid of her to say you're a screwup yet try to threaten to get you fired. If she is capable of helping you (as in the debit card) she should.. you moved out and that is a positive thing, and parents should help their children when they can. It seems she just wants to control you for the rest of your (or her) life.

*hugz* unfortunately, I know a little to well what you're probably going through.

I moved out over 20 years ago, moved twice this year, without giving anyone in my family the forwarding information for the first move, let alone the second. But wouldn't you know it, last night I got a call from my mother (the one who doped me up on anti-psychotics so I'd stop complaining about the sexual abuse from her (now ex, but at the time current) husband) guilting me for not being more chummy with the whole family.

Gee mom. I left to get away from you. When 500 miles wasn't far enough, I moved to the other end of the country. Did it ever occur to you that you didn't have my address or phone number for a reason?

*sigh*

Hang in there. Life CAN get better.
