Having grown-up half my childhood in near by Gaithersburg, MD (Ages 12-20), I can't imagine the words "Giant Shopping Mall" and "Frederick" in the same sentence. In the past 15 years since I have lived in MD Frederick has gone from a one road town with one stop light and a place we used to call "Fred-neck", to a place with strip malls, and McMansions. I hear they even have a gay bar, now... Urban sprawl is amazing and fast. I went back a couple of years ago and just could not believe it. Fields me and my buddies drank in are now pre-planned communities or aluminum siding houses with all the same design. Boy, I feel old...LOL
Heh, yeah, I've had a kind of similar experience with Sioux Falls. I used to live on the outskirts of town, backyard was a cornfield, the whole bit. Now the trailer park where I used to live is in the center of this whole new shopping district with office parks and Edward Scissorhands cul-de-sacs as far as the eye can see.
Strangely, Shirley's cousin (whom we met up with for brunch in Frederick) lives in Gaithersburg. He seems to be about the coolest of Shirley's cousins, which is nice considering that he's also the nearest to us. :)
Ha! Of course. If I'd known, I would have moved the case of drill bits so you could sit down while playing. ;) (hint: you totally could have.)
Is this the wrong time to mention that we have a third cat? *grin* We fully expected Kiera to hide upstairs throughout your visit, and I'm sure she did. She's terribly shy.
Thanks so much for your help. Let me know when I can come over and play some blues with ya for a half hour or so sometime... :)
oops. Yeah, she must be hidden most of the times I'm over there.
I would like to say that I can stop and play some blues with a friend anytime he stops by... might not be 100% true though. But let's see, any time tomorrow after one, Tuesday after five, maybe earlier; Thursday after five...
You had me at "bittersweet truffle souffle". I certainly think I know what I'm making to compliment my pumpkin pie souffle for Thanksgiving. Or something.
You sound like Shirley. She spent an hour or so after that meal hatching plots for what would be good occasions to try a chocolate soufflé... "hmm, whose birthday is coming up?"
We haven't stepped to a soufflé for our Chocolate Parties because they need to be served right out of a well-known oven, and don't transport at all. So we need some other excuse.
Have fun with your pumpkin and chocolate concoctions!
