It really is "ours": the crust is mine, the filling is from one of Shirley's myriad cookbooks. :) I'll ask if she knows which one, and get back to you with both if I can.
Oh wait, you're gluten-free if I remember correctly... I don't have a good gluten-free crust recipe (though if I was to experiment, I'd go in the direction of egg white rather than xanthan gum, to aid crispiness.) But lemme know if you want my gluteny crust recipe anyway. :)
Oh no... Shirley tells me that her wondrous chocolate-pecan pie that she made for my birthday in '00 or '01 (the one that made my co-worker from South Carolina jump for joy and declare Shirley an honorary Southerner) was an experiment that she forgot to write down.
She's trying to recreate the recipe now... she says she used recipes from about 3 cookbooks as templates, and one of them was _Death By Chocolate_ and she *thinks* one of the others was _The Joy of Chocolate_, but isn't too sure about the third.
We may have a project ahead of us now, rebuilding the One that Got Away. *grin*
Kinda reminds me of a story I heard about the Roanoker's trademark sausage gravy recipe. It seems the five sisters who worked there as cooks called their mom for her recipe, and wrote it on the wall beside the phone. Then one day the landlord came in and repainted the place, painting over the precious recipe... (Fortunately, the sisters were able to remember it and wrote it in a notebook afterwards. But wow.)
I'm totally enamored of my Evo; every time I use it, I'm so glad I got it. Especially since I installed WeatherBug to have a better weather widget, and the Jorte calendar app to replace the lame-ass HTC/SprintSense style-over-substance excuse for a calendar.
I was a little dubious about the lack of physical QWERTY keys, but that doubt lasted about five minutes after I started texting with it. *heh*
I love the smoothness of the video camera (for a phonecam), and the camera's low-light compensation is better than my Canon PowerShot. I've been using it as a nav system on my motorcycle for months, but now it looks like I'll need to get a dashboard mount for it too. (It gave us better directions on this car trip than our dedicated Garmin GPS did.)
Oh yeah, and it's a good phone too. :) The only improvement I'm still waiting for is better tracking on the pinch-zoom, and full vector-zooming on the maps. Then I'll have to start standing on street corners accosting random passersby about how cool it is.
