I'm trying to figure out what exactly that's meant to protect since when I watch the motocross one, it doesn't seem to inflate fast enough, and it seems to rely entirely on the rider being thrown clear of the vehicle or... ummm... camel.
Maybe not a bad First Generation though... Faster inflation and broader protection of the shoulder and hip areas, in combination with rigid protection like on many riding jackets to help reduce road rash and this might be cool.
Personally, I'd love it if immediately after impact it surrounded you in a giant, translucent, inflatable spheroid balloon.
The part that really gets me is the "coiled wire is attached to both the horse saddle" section. Good thing the air-charge cylinder is replacable, can you imagine if it was like a car air-bag and you forgot to unhook?
