Does anyone know their way around sprucing up a journal? I want to customize my journal beyond what the pre-set system does, have my own backgrounds and colors and I was wondering if anybody could help me with that? Discuss whats needed, then I could make all the needed graphics and you could toss them together? or teach me how to do it ( Read more... )

x.x Yeah...I tried to look at all that stuff but this much later, i still don't even know where to begin. It gives me a box to put HTML in, I want to do it style 1. but...all I can do is stare at it.

It's not HTML per se. It's CSS. You may want to read up on it. :)

Take a look at mine.

It's hard to do it yourself (and time consuming) because of typical layout size. The styles that LJ offers are stretchable, but if you make your own layout or graphic you have to consider the stretchability. Mine doesn't work well on resolutions about 1024x768- it's made to fit my resolution 'cause I'm the one who is always reading my friends-list. however, that's easily fixed by shrinking your window a little bit :3

Anyway, yeah- I made mine myself, from scratch. ^_^

No clue pup, but then again I like my stuff simple, makes it easer to read. Oh and its PURPLE :)
