Funny you should mention ST fic... I've been ploughing through some pretty awesome Kirk/Bones stuff, of late (in between sewing like a fiend). I'm actually pretty new to Star Trek as a fanfic fandom, though I've been a Trekkie for years and reading slash about as long as I've known you, but I stumbled on a well-done, pretty freaking funny Kirk/Bones about a week ago and here I am. ;D Although... I have kind of been shipping Kim/Paris since before I knew what slash was; I was watching Voyager in high school and thinking that Tom Paris should really just get his head out of his ass and hook up with Harry Kim. ;P

Honestly, I've been reading fanfiction (mostly slash) for years, and yes, there is some really well-written stuff hiding out there among the piles and piles of utter crap - the trick is finding it before you want to claw your eyes out from culling all of the stuff that was clearly written by thirteen-year-old girls because the adult male characters, who are pretty fucking bad-ass in canon, are acting like thirteen-year-old
