Can you tell me what the hell are the news saying about the flu outbreak wherever you are? Cos I just can make up my mind around this anymore!

I couldn't find the news in major local newspaper in Jakarta. But I saw a Yahoo news headline that it sickened over 1000 people already?!? Are you okay, dear?? Be careful okay *send positive thoughts to Nina*

thanks honey. I've been careful but is still quite confussing for me. To be honest in a cute that has over 20 million people, 1000 cases is not a high percentage, But it does mean it could have a quick spread. In any case I'll keep you posted

It's VERY dangerous. It's a new strain of swine flu that has crossed over to humans. Yes Amy, it's made over 1000 people sick and killed at least 68 right now. It's also crossed over into the US and they don't think it can be contained now. They're concerned it's going to become a pandemic.

Nina, *please* be careful. I've had to learn enough about this in my courses this semester and it is EXTREMELY dangerous. Stay in if you can and don't go near anywhere remotely crowded if you have to go out...get a mask if you have to.

Yikes! Don't worry I don't have to go to work so no bus, subway or crowded place. Will go out but to loops' place so no crow there either and they are all healthy and am covering my face ( not fun with the heat but am covering mouth and nose). Also what creeps me out is that they have cancelled gatherings about 553 concert theaters and sport matches! I really have no clue what's happening cos it doesn't make sense that they claim is ok and contained and yet they do all this... There's even mention of probably asking people not to go to work. Now THAT is really scary.

Yet no reason for me to have contact with anyone, so am not that worried for me anyway ;)
