it started with a song and a crush.
» inspired by my obsession over Crush's songs; also, jungkook's cover of sofa and yerin's cover of sometimes because they're so preciously beautiful. I might just think that jungkook and yerin are friends since namjoon is a good friend of her (I do ship namjoon/yerin lol). I lowkey ship them!Listen to
crush/jungkook's split earphone version of sofa and also
crush/yerin's split earphone version of Sometimes. please support crush because he's so effortlessly talented and his songs are just underrated.
They met through a mutual meeting - Namjoon introduced her at him because he just knew that both of them are in the same age and it’ll be great to see the youngsters being good friends asides just colleagues in the music industry.
It’s awkward for their first greeting. Yerin wasn’t really the friendly type compared to her mate, Jimin while Jungkook was being so formal around her, (well, especially when Yerin is a senior and a girl). Jackson made them sit together and they barely slip a glance at each other.
You like Crush-sunbaenim too? - It was Yerin who first talked to him in a not-so-casual way while Jungkook seemed to be a bit surprised with the sudden question. It must be Namjoon who would say to her about him.
He then nodded with a meek smile, in which her lips get in sync with a sweet one, (Jungkook thinks it was something too sweet to look at).
And time flies so unconsciously fast when sometimes, she loses counts on how many times she would walk herself to Namjoon’s studio and by luck, Jungkook would be there too, doing his English homework - somehow, they spend most of the time talking about Crush’s new songs instead of her helping him with the school works.
She indeed loves being around the maknae a little bit more than she thinks, Namjoon just could see that clearly inside her eyes.
Kids, you know.
And she decided to sing Sometimes as a secret gift for their friendship - Jungkook couldn't sleep all night because he kept on seeing her smile inside his mind and her voice is something so beautiful.
I just miss you sometimes. But why are tears falling today?
Jungkook couldn’t lie anymore that sometimes he’d miss her company. They could hardly see each other due to tight schedules and schools, but he doesn’t feel completely lost when she’d send voice notes of her singing their favourite Crush’s songs in the middle of their small midnight talks.
And to him, hearing her voice is something that he would say as the remedy of his unsaid I miss you.
(Little did she knows, his Sofa's cover was meant to be dedicated to her, trying to tell her that he does miss her.)
I’m here, waiting for you, so far from my side, you’re so far away.
It’s been quite a while since he gave her a phone call - she loves Chicago, she once said before, but here he is, without her by his side. He feels incomplete for a moment and he does terribly missed seeing her smile.
“Chicago is nice, but Seoul is much better than any places,” - especially when I’m with you.
His eyes wonder over the starless night from the veranda of his hotel room. It felt different without the sparkling stars, without her. So anonymously strange with just her soft breathing through the phone. It seems so unreal and he wished she could have been here with him, indulging the beautiful sight of the sleepless night city.
“Hey Yerin,” he mildly blurted his thought aloud and she hummed a reply at him.
“I miss you,” - yes, so much that I think I might cry because I do miss you so much.
Two seconds, three seconds and he can hear her lips slowly tugged into a warm, lovely smile even through the long line across the criss-crossing pacific oceans and their pretty little feelings.
In some way, he could feel his heartstring being pulled in an enticingly indescribable way.
“I miss you, too.”
