I finally made it to the hairdresser! And what a pleasure it was to be back at my regular place rather than the discount sweatshop chain place where they butcher your hair for 10 Euro while looking not just bored but disgusted ...
Layers are a revelation when you first have them cut - I did that two years ago ;-) Theoretically, I never changed the style again but somehow my hair got longer and longer despite my insistence every time that I wanted "at least 5cm off"!
It looks great! It looks the way I'd like my hair to look with layers, but because mine is wavy/curly, I end up spending waaay too much time with a hairdryer, straightening and frying.
My hair curls (or rather, frizzes!) too, in fact B's first comment when he saw me this afternoon was "Wow, your hair is a lot more curly!" :-) I like how layers give it more curly bounce whereas long hair just results in straggly frizz ... Today's look is of course thanks to the stylist's magic drying techniques, I'll never again look like that from tomorrow morning!
I remember that we had the frizz thing in common!... yes, your description is more accurate: it's the frizz I hate. I am obsessed with having smooth hair, so that's why I'm a blowdrying fiend. I generally like my curl and wave, too, but it seems that if the layers are cut "wrong" in my hair, it ends up bushy -- not at all sleek and sophisticated. Sort of soccer-mum-ish.

(BTW, I know you don't want to talk about "it" but... *hugs*, OK?)

I blowdry too but it does dry my hair terribly, and then it's not shiny :-( I don't know how my stylist manages to dry my hair and it looks shiny ...
