I've lived in three different places, other than hometown Chicago-area. I had an exciting life in all of those places. And I made friends in all of those places but, with some exceptions, they just weren't the same as my "home crew."
So, I came to this conclusion: there's seeing the world and living on your own. And then there's ignoring the blessing we've earned in the families we've built because we think, for some twisted reason, this is required to grow up.
You've done that "leave my friends and family behind and go grow up" crap. You know who the members of the family you've built are. So just stick by them and be happy. :)
If they've left a place open for you for this long, then its where you belong.
