A "banal" survey...ha HAH!

How do you pronounce the word "banal"? The other day, I was conversing with a friend of mine, when he haphazardly spoke the word "banal", pronouncing it as though it rhymes with "annul". Needless to say, I was quite taken aback and, to be honest, a little bit offended. I myself have always pronounced it with the long A, rhyming with ANAL.

i think i say it in the most pretentious sounding way possible. like BUHnahl. Didn't seem to fit with any of them really, except maybe annul....

Almost always B. And Alex, BUHnahl is what B is. Sometimes I use A, but only in the singular and if it goes with the flow of the sentance more.
