Slamming the door of his 79’ candy apple red Ferrari, a man dressed in a fine cut suit with shades, entered the tiny donut shop that supported the few true patrons. The sleek way he walked told of his authority and masculinity, making any woman in the radius of twenty feet grab for her purse and utensils. The ring of the old fashioned door alarm alerted the shop owner, Joe- of Joe’s Donut Hut, of his business. Nodding to the man while pocketing his keys, the city slicker of a man turned and headed towards the coffee table, anticipating the delicious cup of joe that would be simmering lovely in the coffee container.

Grabbing up a cup from the table, he flipped it and caught it just in time to pull the lever. To his slight dismay, nothing came out. Checking the level bar, he noted it was indeed out of his precious fuel. After all, a man did need a strong brew to start a day of hard work, and his job was most definitely in that category. Looking to the end of the table, he notes the other pot and heads over there, reading the bar measure first. A frown appeared above the shades, only enough for one cup.

“Excuse me, Doll. I was here first-“

Highly affronted, the Ferrari man, or Jacob as he was addressed, looked up as a woman in denim jeans and a tight white shirt placed his cup under the nozzle and poured the last of HIS coffee into her own. “Hey! What the hell do you think you’re doing? That is Mine!” Jacob grabbed at his glasses as his ire rose at the stupidity of what had just happened. He could smell the sweet stench of purity and of goodness and it turned his gut, making the need for his cup of coffee all the more important. Reaching forward as the chick began to walk off; he caught the cup and tugged it quickly from the girl’s hands. “I’ll be damned if an Angel’s goinna ruin my morning.”

“Well, you are damned-“ The brunette angel, or Gabriel as she was called, spun around and advanced on the cup of goodness. “So go home. I require the cup far more than the likes of you.”

Keeping the coffee out of reach, Jacob scowled, pocketing his glasses. “Screw you. I have a nine o’clock appointment at the elementary school with little Johnny and I refuse to be late. We’ve been through this butter butt.”

Placing her palm over the coffee cup, Gabriel jerked the cup from the demon’s hands, managing not to spill a drop as a lid appeared in and closed the cup, preserving the juice of awareness. “Please, your morning breath would warn everyone to a gas leek and they would run screaming. Not to mention your five o’clock shadow is hiding last night’s dinner. This cup of coffee will not help you in anyway. I have high demands today from a high order and I must have nourishment before going out into the human’s world to help and-“

“-do good deeds while among their numbers!” Jacob giggles condescendingly at Gabriel, unable to hide the flames that literally leapt into his eyes. “I bet you do. A nail appointment at eight and a stroll in the park-“

“I’ll have you know that I have a grandmother to help across the street in five minutes time before you’re idiot brother runs her over with his Toyota.” With a wave of her prissy manicured nails, she walked out, tossing a quarter onto the counter by Joe as she went.

“I’ll tell you, that woman’s one hot mamma.”

“I wish.” Biting back a string of profanities, Jacob knocked over the empty coffee pot and left, making sure to make the child in the booster chair cry as he walked out the door.
