Had a thought about the Gods - perhaps some of them of their husks -managed to flee down the chain of creation ahead of the conflict and when they reached
Rathelien they had built up enough of a critical mass to hold their own.

Re: the gods, there could be remnants on subsequent threshold worlds although I think that by now they would be encrusted with native beliefs. It's something to think about, though, when/if it comes to reclaiming past threshold worlds.

Naturally our local BAM hasn't gotten any copies of your book in. (Just as naturally they are quite willing to order it, but will also tack on postage and handling to the cost.)
I plan on ordering my own copy through the local Barns & Noble.
I agree with you. Growing old isn't something you want to do. (I have gout-arthritis and it is even less fun than your degenerative arthritis.)
