Although I missed the boat in terms of writing anything on the internet here before the facts were well publicized, I did do the math to confirm my initial assumption ("that's a bullshit publicity stunt") and I can share it all for you here

Ugh, I hope not. There's a nasty little sign error in the math- it would actually sink at a rate of 0.002G, rather than rise. I mean, it could be, like, a few centimeters thicker than I guesstimated and then it would rise...

I also made a stupid arithmetic error in the last entry, the one about shotguns. Bad month for math writing.
