I was trying to figure out where I had heard this exact story before (the end of modernity, the formation of identity tribes, etc) and I realized, oh right. I went to a christian college (Covenant College, Lookout Mtn, Georgia). They teach this there. They directly teach that students should be "critical" of mainstream scientific/social/political thought, guided of course by a christian "world and life view" and that they shouldn't accept the modernist paradigm. Or the post-modernist one either, although they're a little fuzzier on what that means ( ... )
