R.I.P. Dolores Marie Schedl, 1919-2010

(Maternal Grandmother) has been dying for a couple of years and we've all been waiting. I'm sorry (because of the tragedy) but not particularly sorry because she was mean to my mother and it will be a relief for mom who's devoted much of the past decade or so to her care. I'm only repeating what I said on FB, but I am sorry for your loss and your family's loss (especially your mom), although I can understand that the feelings this lets loose for you are complex. I remember a bit of the back story. She was a character! Do remember you can call me if you need to, or if you want to hang out to get your mind in a different place, that is cool too. I am here for you if you need, in this time of complex, sad and strange, if not unexpected, bereavement.

Ah dear *brotherly hugs* My condolences.

I relate to experiencing dueling emotions regarding your grandmother's passing. When my father died I was both relieved and sad. It was what it was, he was a real SOB yet he was still the man who taught me to debate, to think beyond what society wanted me to think, etc. Mixed.
