No date has been chosen yet. But it's going to be sometime next year :)

Gay's mom died on April 1 and it's proper to wait at least one year after the death of a close family member to announce a wedding. Hence the date.

Yes! Victorian etiquette rules: you may always congratulate the man on winning such a fine bride--as the man is presumed to be the "suitor"--but to congratulate the lady implies that she has been on the hunt for a man, and is subtly insulting.

It's a silly rule and nobody follows it anymore. I just happen to like pointless Victoriana.

I was kind of hoping that at least half my flist here and on fb would think I was kidding, and not believe me. Alas, it seems my friends know me too well ;)

Where are you going to get married?

I'm not sure yet. Sometime next year.
Right now we're both so broke, I don't know how or where we'd host a wedding. Unless it was a guerrilla wedding. Which you have to admit has enticing possibilities.
