sorry sorry sorry it's so late! work has this really annoying way of getting in the way of all the fun things I want to do.
So without further a due....
Grocery Store
Ordinary looking man shopping…gets an extraordinary amount of carbo boost cans. Little do we know that he is really Pusher, and that the store is full of FBI agents ready to bust him.
And they do
Frank Burst: “You’re Pusher I presume.”
Pusher: “You must be Frank Burst, you know I gotta tell you, you got a great name.”
Pusher is taken into custody
(Guest appearance…Fluky on a tabloid!)
Police Car
Pusher is in the back Burst is in the passenger seat and another police officer is driving.
Pusher starts talking to the driver about ho he loves the color of his shirt.
How it is very soothing
It’s a cerulean blue
Makes him think of a breeze
Cerulean Blue.
And the officer pulls out right in front of an on coming

Mulder and Scully’s office
Frank Burst explains the situation.
i.e. Pusher claiming to have murdered a string of people who appear to have committed suicides. Knowing all the details, cerulean blue etc.
Mulder spots RONIN (a samurai without a master)
Some research room
M & S are looking through copies of the American Ronin magazine.
Mulder finds some adds
“I solve Problems OSU”
OSU is a Japanese word meaning “to push”
Inside a Car
M & S are on a stake out of one of the payphones whose number is listed in the adds.
(Scully is sleeping on Mulder’s shoulder….. classic shipper moment!)
Mulder: “I think you might have drooled on me.”
Payphone starts to ring….it’s Pusher and he’s been watching them.
Pusher: “You and your pretty partner seem awfully close.” (That’s right baby!)
Pusher wants Mulder to “prove your worth, so far youre doing alright.”
Pusher leaves a breadcrumb…the last number dialed out from the payphone is to a golf course.
Mulder: “Lets go G-woman.”
The next morning at the golf range
FBI surrounds Pusher
Pusher gets some poor FBI agent to douse himself in gasoline.
The poor man is holding a lighter and begging M, S, and Burst to stop him.
(Why doesn’t anyone just grab the lighter from him….and why is Scully the only one with the common sense to go grab a fire extinguisher.)
The poor guy lights himself on fire and everyone immediately jumps on him to put the fire out.
(Does anyone else think the guys burns are a little severe for the spilt second that he’s on fire?)
Mulder finds Pusher almost passed out in a car mummering “light it.” Over and over
Pusher: “Bet ya five bucks I get off.”
Court
And he does
(Mulder once again looks kinda crazy on the stand.)
Pusher: “I believe you owe me 5 dollars.” When they meet in the stairwell.
Mulder: “Hey your shoe’s untied.”
Pusher looks down.
Mulder: “Made ya look. How do you do it?”
Gun Range
Mulder and Scully discus Modell and how all his life he tried to gain entrance in to elite government and military agencies but was never admitted. He would tell self aggrandizing lies. Modell’s life had been all too mundane despite his hardest attempts.
But something changed…..
Mulder: “We had enough to get past a simple preliminary hearing. Modell psyched the guy out. He put the whammy on him.”
Scully: “Please explain to me the scientific nature of the whammy.”
Mulder figures out that the ability must have come to Modell recently, like in the last two years.
FBI Building
Modell penetrates the FBI building with nothing more than “Pass” written on a piece of paper.
(Guest appearance….DAVID GROHL ladies and gentlemen!!!!)
While getting Holly to get him info on Mulder he also gets her to kick the living crap out of AD skinner. (She is so terribly terribly sorry.)
Modell’s House
Modell is not there, but what is there is a ton of carbo boost in the fridge and the pills of a dying man in the bathroom. (a man most likely dying of a brain tumor…a brain tumor that could also be giving him his powers)
Modell does call and over the phone “pushes” Frank Burst to have a heart attack
The payphone Modell was calling from is right next to the hospital that his meds come from.
So off to the hospital they go!
Outside Hospital
The FBI surrounds the building
Mulder decides to go in alone with a head set camera
Testing the camera he scans around the room
Mulder: “ You think I get the playboy channel?”
Camera pans to Scully who is looking very worried
Mulder: “Smile Scully.” As he kneels down in front of her. But she can’t
Mulder puts his gun in her hands…let his own hand rest on top of hers.
Scully: “Take it!”
Mulder: “No, I wouldn’t want to end up pointing it at anyone except Modell.”
Scully covers his hands with hers. Mulder and Scully share a long and meaningful gaze.
(Guest appearance….UST! Oh how sexy a look can be! How full of love and longing!)
Inside Hospital
Mulder enters the hospital.
Modell does have a tumor, his chart states he’s dying
Mulder turns around…Modell is standing there with a gun pointed in Mulders face.
Mulders camera goes out and Scully immediately jumps up to go in after him.
Scully finds Mulder and Modell playing Russian Roulette.
Mulder pulls the trigger on Model, no bullet
Mulder points the gun at his own head……the tension is palpable.
Scully: “Mulder No!”
Modell: “Mulder yes.”
Mulder pulls the trigger, no bullet..... Scully Flips her sh*t
Modell makes Mulder point the gun at Scully. The moment is heart renching.
Mulder: “I’m going to kill you Modell. Scully Run!”
Scully runs to the fire alarm and pulls it. The sound of the fire alarm breaks Modell’s hold over Mulder. Mulder fires the gun at Modell and keeps firing even though there are no more bullets. If her had pulled the trigger at Scully there would have been a bullet.
Hospital Room
Modell is alive but in a coma.
Mulder and Scully are at his bedside.
Mulder tells Scully that Modell turned down treatment. That the tumor was operable right up until the end. He thinks it’s because…
Mulder: “He was always such a little man. This was finally something that made him feel big.”
Scully reaches out and holds Mulders hand (can I get an Amen!)
“I say we don’t let him take up another minute of our time.”

- I’ve always thought that this episode just might be the one where Scully realizes that she does in fact love Mulder. Thoughts? Disagreements?
- This episode is defiantly one of my top ten if not my top five…where does it fit in your list?
