Yes to everything they say. I want tons of Dean surviving (in fic if not on show, because after all there's only so much Castaway-style survivalist stuff a show will put up with) and I want Sam to save Dean and I want purgatory to allow Dean a sort of purification by fire rather than just breaking him down further. Yes.

I'm more excited about the last two minutes of the finale than I've been about anything this season since, um, probably The Mentalists (when all my hopes of addressing the Amy situation and Dean's drinking were sunk).

I had no problem with the loss of support structure, but it never came back around to serve its purpose, if that makes sense.

*nod* I'm actually really sad to have lost so many supporting characters, but that's more because I feel this show would be stronger with more of an ensemble cast; I have no trouble with seeing the theme of Boys All Alone explored. It's just that they didn't really, as you say.

I'd very much like to see Dean do some detoxing (and not just to hit my h/c kink, honest :D). And yes, I would love to see him work out for himself that "monster" and "warrior" are different things. Gah, I just want the boy to get a chance to be happy a tiny bit more whole ( ... )
