I completely agree that this relationship wasn't resolved, and did leave me feeling quite, I don't know if empty is the right word, but I definitely wasn't fulfilled.
I suppose most of that is down to the fact that Joss and Co. has to tie up as many loose ends as possible in a considerably short space of time.

Great vid, the song is surprisingly suitable.
And as the Wes/Alexis fanatic I am, yay! A Perrin/Echo clip :D

I completely accept it that there wasn't enough time to dwell on it and under the circumstances we did get at least recognition for the issues that arose with the fall of his facade, but having invested a lot emotionally in their relationship (he was literally the only person I trusted to keep Echo safe no matter what), it felt so disappointing that there wasn't a more solid ending. Luckily there's always fan fiction ;)

And yeah, me too. I love Echo/Perrin. I'm actually planning on making a vid centering their relationship when I have the time ;)

Wow that was a long video. I stopped around 3 minutes almost 4 only because I don't know how Dollhouse ends yet (My DVR ate the ending) but I hated what they did with Boyd. They gave us a solid, wonderful, deep relationship then he's batshit crazy and behind Rossum? Gah. I didn't see the ending so I don't know how it ends for him or them.

Though I should add I looked at this through my shipper googles-Boyd/Echo ^_^

Sorry, I didn't include a spoiler warning, because I always forget these events are pretty recent :( But yeah, I totally love the little Echo/Boyd moments we do get. ;D

Gorgeous video, wonderfully edited. Thank you! I hated what happened with Boyd too. I suppose in his own twisted way he did love all the dolls and think of them as his 'family'.

Yeah, I realized that they did introduce the fact that Boyd did have redeeming qualities (he did believe thoughtpocalypse was inevitable and tried his best to save the people he cared about), but with them putting emphasis on him being batshit crazy all of the sudden, just kinda ruined it for me :(

I hope some good fics will appear that'll fix it for me and my sad brain ;)

Actually, I really liked this one. Frankly, I think your work on this is better/more believable than that of the Dollhouse writers, because I, quite simply, flat-out don't believe that this was the ending they had originally intended for that character. I think they simply didn't have time to go off in another story direction to explain his real origin, and so they said, "Okay, this works in the time we have left," and just stuck him in that role. I don't think I'm in denial over being as betrayed as Echo, I think it just felt that tacked-on. Whedon's writing team has given us much better than this, and I do forgive them for doing what they could with the time they had after cancellation, but this just isn't plausible for me with the way things shook out.

I think someone said in an interview that they came up with Boyd being the bad guy at the start of season 2 (they pretty much knew the show wasn't going to hold), so yeah, this wasn't what they planned for him :(

I could've taken evil!Boyd with the solid intent of protecting the ones he loves and trying to find a cure for remote wiping (you know, kinda morally grey), but why did he have to be batshit!crazy?

I also could see his betrayal being one of the things that makes Echo unable to commit to Paul before Epitaph Two (is he too abusing the implanted trust she has for her handler & will he too betray her?), but I would've loved to see it really wrecking her the way Paul's death did. ;)

But you gotta enjoy what you get and at least there's always fan fiction. ;D

That's an interesting point about the wired trust she has for her handler.

There's always fan fiction for some, but not for me. Some people like golf; I don't. Or, as Wash said, "Some people juggle geese!" :) I don't have a problem with people entertaining themselves; I just personally don't want any stories in my head that blur for me what actually happened with the canon.

Well that's not a bad stance either, seeing as how bad!fic is so hard to forget ;D
