Bad endings~

... when I first finished LP:R I said I'd tackle the two bad endings, and well never got to it. Now, one of the bad endings is on youtube, so whatever, but still, I decided to go for it.

Oh yeah SPOILERS

So, if anyone remembers, the start of chapter 4 has a lovely mind screw in which Prier sees her friends as demons and demons as friends. Well, if you don't hit the event panel (BTW, said event panel disapears if you kill one of the demons before you get to it), you go on to finish the stage.

At that point, a huge demon appears and knocks Prier straight across the room. However... that seems to affect Prier because right after that, it's Father Salade that stands in the demon's place. Now Prier is getting all panicky and confused as hell as Salade is kinda looking more and more angry by the second. I think he's trying to tell her that she's gone insane and that her "friends" are the demons. At first Prier doesn't seem to buy it and then suddenly, the bodies of your companions (and Sister Olive for some weird reason) appear on the ground, all shadowed.

... I didn't bother trying to see if I could make out anything with the dictionary at that point... but usually, lying, shadowy characters are NOT A GOOD THING.

Prier starts to freak her shit out. And cue some flashbacks of the previous chapter, mostly the end where she remembers failing to beat the last Demon Prier. But this time, you get to see what actually happens while she screamed her lungs out... Demon Prier and Prier merged inside her heart, and looks like Demon Prier won for real.

At that moment, Prier goes up in a black cloud and the demons behind her gather up around her. And she's... pretty much on the verge of tears, while Father Salade attacks.

At this point, you get an extra battle that's not in the "good ending" path. Maou Prier vs Father Salade.

... did I mention he's level 40? And I'm level 14?

You can pretty much guess what happened at this point. But that's actually how you get the second (or does this make this the first?) bad ending. This was probably put there in order to prevent an unwinnable situation as losing grants you a new cycle, so you can level up more... haha. (But even then, Salade IS supposed to be vastly overpowered, even compared to the previous stage, it's insane)

Also, "God Bless Prier" plays during that battle. DAMMIT N1, you just have to rub it in our faces, don't you?

Okay, so cue the ending... and it appears Culotte is still alive as Salade tries to wake him up. He asks about Prier... and she's nowhere to be found, and Salade just kinda can't spit it out.

Once again, no hablo japanese (but it's slowly getting there... kinda), but there's a high chance that Salade just put her out of her misery, so to speak. Culotte faints again, and... cue automatic narration text (I have no idea how I'm ever going to get through that one...) You see Culotte lying in the hospital bed, and only him, cue more narration and a flashback to the first scene (the original demon ending) where he kinda mocks Prier for being crowned Overlord. And then more narration (I IS BEING HELPFUL). During the last ones, he does mention Noir and Calamity, but that's all I made out. I don't think I even heard a Croix or anything. He also says "Nee-san" about two dozen times but then again... can't blame him.

I,m honestly not sure about the rest of the crew. Maybe later I'll try to see if I can decipher anything (I learn by doing dammit), or maybe it gets expanded on if I beat Salade (which totally isn't happening in this playthrough, hahaha... level 40...)

But at the very least... Culotte is 100% not dead.

... unless that last sentence where Culotte seems to utter the words humans and demons like right after the one mentioning Noir means they lost...

But like I said, mostly narration, so don't know anything beyond Culotte is in the hospital.

Still... depressing as hell. *listens to happy ending theme for Rorona to cheer up* Yep, talk about mood whiplash.

la pucelle:r playthrough, i am not obessed with rorona
