It's so pwerty... Yay for drawing again! And I don't think your skills were ever completely dead. =P

Another thing that I noticed, I can't quite put my finger on it, but something about the picture feels different from that which you normally do. It might just be the background, but I dunno, the character itself seems different somehow.

This is one of the few pictures I've drawn with such an abstract intent. Could that be it?

Hmm... it's possible. I think though that it's more related to the feeling that's in it maybe?

I don't know if it's sad, or more of searching for something... I thought about it for a long while (lol, I know I might be putting a little too much thought, but I just couldn't put my finger on it.) It seems like she's looking off in the distance for something, maybe something she can't see, and is looking for it. It also looks like she's a little tired, maybe that she's been searching for too long and giving up hope?

Any thoughts?

longing after something, I can see that.
tired because the search is draining her, I can see that also.

good points, good points.

I think all of this is paralleling my inner turmoil.

Lovely painting, Michi-Chan! ~<3 The effect of her clothes makes it so wavey...like water! Good job on this art! XD

I guess I will be the ass that offers a little criticism... Of course first off it is very well done over all and better than the avg. art work, but there were certain things I liked and didn't.

Liked:
Facial attributes and hair are both done excellently, best part
Abstract adaptation of orbs
Positioning that draws attention where it should be

Disliked:
Simplicity of gown/outfit, was more attention and detail in face and hair that the simply made clothing doesn't seem to quite fit
Shadeing of entire background in method used, shading in wasn't the mistake but using the same principle color of orbs weakens their standing, another color would have allowed them to stand out more, use of blending stick would help make it look less varied

Sorry if I seem like an ass... Just trying to help...

Actually, I appreciate it :) You were a lot more friendly than the usual critic ( ... )
