If you're with someone that's an awful match, no matter how nice the date is, it will never be worth it.

If you're with someone who's incredible, just having them around is more than enough. Netflix instant streaming and a bag of popcorn's cheap.

You're thinking of individual dates, and they never remain that way. Believe me, I'm with the love of my life, we're getting married in Spring 2012 - but it's not cheap being in a steady relationship, and it's usually even less cheap when starting out.
