I'm not quite sure how five centimetres qualifies as "Heavy snow".

It probably wouldn't but 15 to 20 centimetres is more than we've had in almost 20 years, so relatively yes, it is quite heavy.

Celebrating Waitangi Day as it was meant to be celebrated: inside, with a cup of tea, wrapped in a duvet and staring out the window at a blizzard.

We have the day off too! And are celebrating by buying a barbie and burning some meat out on the deck. Yeah!

Weather here is pretty severe also - 10 minutes out in that sun and you'll be blistered.
