New house wish list

My mom just asked me (in email) what my house wish list items are for when we start looking. I figured since I spent a long time thinking about it and typing it out, I'd post it here, too, to save it. I may add to this/change it from time to time as I think about things more, but it's a good place to start

I would kill for a nice laundry area, mines like in the worst part of the basement.

Girl, you don't even know. Our basement is a wet, leaky, dungeon full of wolf spiders and cave crickets. There are plenty of times that I have to shut the lid to the washer or the door to the dryer really carefully so that I don't cause the giant wolf spider right above to jump on me. All while standing in a muddy puddle full of cricket legs and dryer lint. It's hell.

We get cave crickets so bad! Bowie just like sits there and bark screams at them.

At least he doesn't carry them upstairs to the kitchen like our cats do. Why do they even exist, besides to be creepy as fuck!?

I have to admit, I love having a laundry closet. It's small, but being in the hallway, I'm forced to finish laundry and no basement crawlies.

That being said, I wish I had a basement for storage.

Since we don't plan on moving unless we hit the lottery, I often fantasize about building onto our house. I love reading your wishlist and comparing it to my own.

I could probably be okay with that, so long as it was in an open enough area (not crammed in a corner or hallway).

Now, if we won the lottery and built a dream house, my list might be totally different!
