I'm working on it
*******
"Breathe, baby, breathe!"
Kono looks up at Danny, horrified. "I'm not in labor!"
"Okay okay, sorry," says Danny, smoothing her hair away from her face. She's sweating and pale, and almost looks like she's in labor, except for the bullet wound in her upper shoulder. "It's going to be okay."
Kono nods and leans her head back against the wall, closing her eyes.
Danny crawls over to where Steve is crouched under the shed's open window. "Hey, we need to get her out of here."
"Believe it or not, I am working on that."
Danny sighs and settles back against the wall of the shed. Steve peeks his head over the edge of the windowsill then ducks back. He looks thoughtful for a moment, his brow furrowed.
"No," says Danny.
Steve looks over at him, frowning. "What?"
"No, you didn't leave the stove on."
"You know what, Danno?" says Steve, glaring at him. "Shut. Up."
"Oh, that's not what you were worried about? Because it looked like--"
"Are you physically capable of closing your mouth?"
"I'm just saying, I would've thought you'd have come up with some genius plan by now to get us out of here," says Danny, gesturing at the window above them. "You know, before Delano has time to get his whole fucking crew out here and--"
"You think I hadn't considered that?" says Steve. "This isn't the first time I've done this."
"Which is why I was a little surprised--"
"Okay, what is your 'genius plan'?" says Steve. "Please, go ahead."
"Well," says Danny, glancing up at the window. "I thought we could go out the back, take the path down to the--"
"Oh, you mean right past the four guys with machine guns," says Steve. He nods, gesturing magnanimously. "Go on."
It's Danny's turn to glare. "Okay, asshole--"
Suddenly, a gunshot goes off behind them. Danny whirls around, ready to fire his own weapon, just in time to see one of Delano's guys collapse into a heap in the shed's open doorway.
"If you guys are done bickering," Kono says, setting her gun on the floor with a shaky hand, "I'd really like to get out of here."
