I didn't want to leave them like that, but I had to get back to the house that had Cordelia and little Merrick in it. I'd only seen her once, but I still remembered what she looked like. I should call Alyx now, but I was going to wait, perhaps bring Merrick to her if ... everything was okay ... on that end. I wondered if Cordy was turned as well

I was struggling to get little vampire bitch off of me but I was failing, she was strong for such a little kid. Little kid vampire. Right. I finally just gave up and lay there listening to her carry on and on about Faith, calling her the dark star, and how special I was to have her attention. Kid was seriously whack in the head and it dawned on me that Faith must have turned her. I was hoping there'd be a seriously pissed off Mom who'd go to Angel for help, help killing the evil bitch Faith.

"Yeah yeah I've heard how much of a brown noser you are for Faith, give it a rest will ya'!" I barked out angrily at her and let out a yelp as she slammed my head against the floor hard. Took after Faith and everything, I bet I'd leave here with a black eye! If I left at all. I heard someone coming up behind us and mostly because the little brat starting hissing and gripped me tighter.

Cordy thought I wanted to hurt her? No, she thought I was Angelus, of course. I listened to her go on and on and then when she said 'her' property, my eyes narrowed and I looked at Merrick already knowing what she was but Cordy wasn't, even if she was bitten ... by her. Her probably meaning Faith who wasn't here anymore. It took a while for Cordy to actually know it was me and when she did that, when I knew that she knew that it was me, I rammed the end of the axe against her arm to make her fall before grabbing Cordy and holding her to me.

"What the hell is going on?" I asked and pulled Cordy with me while Merrick stood up, looking at us both. I had to tell Alyx what ... this ... thing did to her daughter but first? I couldn't let Alyx see her like this. I already knew that because it would haunt her ... Shaking my head, I swallowed hard remembering old memories and carefully pushing them back.

"Don't worry, I'll get you out of here," I told Cordy and held onto her tightly as Merrick moved closer and closer.

My eyes widened as Angel charged with the axe, I just closed my eyes and the next thing I knew he was pulling me toward him and asking what was going on. Merrick stood up and just looked at him so calmly it scared the life from me. I was tired of being drug around and smacked up by vampires, excluding Angel saving me of course. I stood behind him and held onto the back of his shirt tightly as Merrick came closer and closer.

"Angelus... he tricked me. Told me he'd help me and then well I found out it was him and he wanted me to babysit Connor and ... Faith." I said quietly and let out a meep as Merrick kept stepping closer and her eyes were locked on me. She was the creepiest thing ever. "Angel let's get out of here before he comes back."

"You're not going anywhere Cordelia." Merrick said calmly, arching a brow and stopping with her hands folded behind her back. "You're going to stay right here with me until the dark star gets back. You and her are the best of pals and I think she'd like me to keep you safe." My eyes were huge as she

Before I knew it, the little vampire girl jumped on me, knocking me over and Cordy fell. Fresh blood was all I could smell as Merrick pinned me down and clawed at me, slapped at me, did whatever she could. Shaking my head, I vamped out as Cordy kicked the axe toward me, but it was too late, I didn't get to it, she did and now she was turning it on Cordelia. Quickly, I got up and leaned down, grabbing her legs from under her, making her fall before picking her back up and swinging her across the room. The axe fell to the floor and I picked it up as I made my way to her

I looked up at him as he told Cordelia to run and I knew that she would be running for the rest of her life until the dark star made her what she wanted. I knew she would betray him over and over and over and he would regret saving her this night, telling her to run away like a bad girl. I watched as she caught the keys and nervously looked at Angel, wondering if she should take her chances with the other Angel out and about. He'd kill her, snap her neck like a candy cane even though Faith would be mad. She'd be very, very mad. He looked back to see if she'd left and that was all the time I needed. He turned around and noticed I was gone

Falling down on the floor, I braced myself as she hit me over and over with the vase and then she was gone. I lay there for a minute trying to get myself together before I rolled over and sat up, feeling my head and the blood that was there. Narrowing my eyes, I grabbed the axe and got up, stalking out of the room and then out of the house. I saw Merrick going after Cordy and I caught up with her, reaching out and grabbing her hair and swinging her around like a rag doll before she fell to the ground
