I agree. As far as I could tell, the one with guts in that picture was the guy they were torturing. In a situation like that, it seems to me the best thing would be to non-violently insert oneself between the police and the person being tortured with the cameras rolling (likely becoming a victim of torture oneself, but not giving them an excuse to press charges for assault on an officer).
