picture post!
I finally got around to uploading some pictures today. Since it's Saturday here, I got off work at 3:30. Without further ado, here are the pictures we took at the Grand Hotel, which is where we went for my birthday.
The actual hotel, and the gate you have to drive through to get there:
This is the hallway leading to our room (each floor is decorated in the style of a different Chinese dynasty, although I have no clue which one this is), and the inside of our actual room:
This is the golden dragon fountain that was near our room. It had some long historical story, but the picture of the plaque didn't turn out and I can't remember it now. It's old.
For whatever reason, there were all these weird, lit-up figures the lobby. We took a picture of this one because we found it pretty amusing. It's an octopus holding a pig. I don't know.
Oh, yeah. We have recently inherited a puppy. He was abandoned outside Tim's language school, and the manager took him to the vet and got his shots and everything. Right now, it's kind of up in the air if we're going to keep him permanently or not. We originally were just taking car of him until after Chinese New Year, because the person who was going to take him couldn't take him until then. But, long story short, she backed out and we're trying to find someone to take him. I guess if no one can/will, he's ours. But anyway, he's really cute, so here are a few pictures.
