Entry One - Why Reiki?

Jan 02, 2008 12:58

I started thinking about Reiki a couple of years ago because I feel so helpless when someone I care about is ill.  Being the ultimate control freak, I want to be able to fix it and I get upset when I can't do anything.  I've always felt attuned to healing, even as far as wanting to be a dr while growing up (it was the years of schooling that scared ( Read more... )

Change, coming into and affecting your life, has *everything* to do with Reiki.

In order to get even your first Reiki attunement, you are inviting a change into your life. It is a positive change, and it helps to view all change as positive in some way.

I would like to hear more about your thoughts and progress with Reiki. I'm a Reiki II, and know several practitioners.

I agree. So many changes. I sometimes fear the person that I'll become afterwards. You know, maybe people won't like the new, more peaceful, centered me, sort of thing. I've had some sessions and I'm already feeling the changes in my body and soul. I plan on going into that in further posts.

Are you going to go eventually attune to master or are you stoping after Reiki II?

It's hard not to fear change. It's an interesting process to learn to welcome change, good or bad.

If people, nebulous authorities or not, do not like a more peaceful and centered you, then the problem lies within them and not with you.

I don't know that I will ever *want* Master status. It comes with a certain set of responsibilities, and I don't know if that is something I will want to take on. Currently, I am happy with my II status, but I might move to III, and just not go all the way to Master.

I completely agree, I don't know that I'll ever look towards Master. Maybe I'll feel different someday but right now I'll stick with I then II. Thanks for the input. I really looking forward to talking with you as time goes on!

good on you - making the choice to change is sometimes the one that people never make (experience talking here ;->)

I am proud to know you, and I will hope you find your path rewarding.
