James Gordon's partner rolled his eyes as James made a quiet excuse and slipped away from the car. Granted, his partner couldn't blame him. Marking cars parked too long outside City Hall was hardly glamorous, but... Well, that boy was going to end up getting himself shot if he kept barking up that tree. After all, he knew why Gordon had ducked away.
He'd heard the news already. The deputy Press Secretary wasn't going to be tried. He'd made a plea bargain, rolled completely on the shooter. He wouldn't even have a probation officer. The justice system was screwed, and James knew it.
He slid onto the bench beside Dalia and smiled a little at her. "How was work?" he asked.
