James slept through the 11 o'clock news and didn't glance at his morning paper, but the headline caught up to him

"Hello?" Dalia answered the phone without looking at who was calling. She was at her desk, debating what to do for lunch.

"Hey," James said, smiling a bit when he heard her answer. "How're you?"

"Hungry," Dalia told herself to relax. Maybe he hadn't seen the paper...or maybe he had and the thought hadn't occurred to him...She'd been paranoid since the night before when she'd fled the chopper's floodlight. "You?"
